Allied Inpatient Rehab Receives High Honors for Patient Outcomes - September, 2008 Allied Services Rehab Hospital recently received a Top Performer award from the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDS). UDS is the most widely used system in the world for documenting the severity of patient disabilities and outcomes of medical rehabilitation. The Top Performer award recognizes facilities that rank in the top 10% of inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide on a number of important outcomes including functional improvement, length of stay, and how often patients return home after their rehab stay. For 2007, Allied Services Rehab Hospital ranked in the top 8% out of 804 inpatient rehab facilities nationwide. Patients admitted to Allied Services Rehab Hospital
were discharged at a more independent level and
showed greater improvement in a shorter length of
time than the national average. In addition, more of
Allieds patients returned home and fewer were
discharged to an acute care hospital in spite of the
fact that Allied has an older patient population
than the national average. |

Functional Tone Management –
The SaeboFlex Allied Rehab, Providing the Latest Rehabilitation Advancements For Patients Who Have Suffered a Stroke - December, 2005 The FTM (Functional Tone Management) arm-training program is designed for people who have suffered a stroke or other neurological impairment and have residual hemi paresis of their arm. The program focuses on initiation and repetition of specific tasks to promote strength, function and recovery. One of the greatest challenges in rehabilitation of the stroke patient is achieving recovery of the upper extremity and regaining use of the arm functionally during daily tasks. The primary objective of this program is to enable the patient to use the involved hand. In some cases this approach may be used only a few days or weeks following the stroke. Allied Rehab’s FTM program utilizes traditional treatment approaches in conjunction with the new and innovative SaeboFlex. |
