Allied Services supports Haiti Emergency Relief -January, 2010 Atty. William P. Conaboy, CEO, announced that the regional non-profit healthcare and human service organization will be making $2,500 contributions to the Red Cross and to the Passionist Missionaries on behalf of Allied's 2,600 employees and volunteers. Allied Services' employee and family connections to the devastation in Haiti are many. Two specific examples are depicted below: -In 2008, two therapists from John Heinz Rehab - Pam Ceol and Sandy Tomasura - participated in a mission in Port-au-Prince, Haiti with the Hands Together non-profit organization which has helped children in the impoverished country. -Atty. Conaboy's brother Conan, who is a registered nurse, and nephew John are currently volunteering in Haiti to help in the recovery mission. Mr. Conan Conaboy, RN, has worked closely with Father Richard (Rick) Frechette and the Passionist Missionaries to provide healthcare for children in Haiti over the past five years. In 2006, Father Rick Frechette and his volunteers established St. Damien Pediatric Hospital. Allied Services employees are also coordinating a system-wide collection to help several international relief charities such as the Red Cross, Hands Together, etc. Employee and visitor donations will be collected through Friday, January 22nd and then the funds will be disbursed to each non-profit organization. Additionally, an employee blood drive will be conducted on Monday, February 1st at the John Heinz Institute in Wilkes-Barre Twp., and on Tuesday, February 2nd in the Graf Community Room at the Allied Rehab Hospital in Scranton, in cooperation with the Red Cross.
